Summary: As a young girl, I always dreamed of a fairy tale life. One day my prince would ride up on a white horse and carry me off to his castle with a white picket fence. But reality was quite the opposite. From the time I was a small child, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse were running rampant in my life.
I was raised in a strict religious and family environment. Many people manipulated me for their own gain. I was a pawn of an arranged marriage that produced two beautiful children of which I was determined to raise in love. Offering them a life I was unable to enjoy.
A bitter divorce brought about a whole new life that I had never experienced. Rejected, homeless with no family, I had to find my own way in a world from which I had been protected. Struggling to figure out this new way of life brought its challenges and many mistakes.
But nothing prepared me for the heartache of all heartaches that I was to experience at the tender age of twenty-six!
Be prepared to cry, shake your head and rejoice, while reading my book. God helped me write this to bring hope to one’s heart!

Took A Break

Saturday we left the farm and went for a drive. Usually pack the car with the essentials for a day trip and off we go to wherever the FJ will take us!
We landed at Crane Lake.
It was 100 acre lake before 2015. The dam broke and they let water out to repair it so now it is about 40-50 acres. It was still beautiful!
We hiked a little bit but we are to understand that it has a hiking trail that is about 5 miles long. We will go back to make that hike probably with the horses.

I wonder what made this burrow in the middle of the tree? hmmmm

We then hopped in the car and away we went to finish our trip. Went past Glover were they had the last lead smelter in the states. They have talked about revitalizing this smelter for other uses but who knows really.

Talk to ya later!!

Inside Projects....

As a lot of you know, Mountain Man and I are always up to something. We are an industrious couple! No I am not bragging just stating facts! Anytime our friends call, we are doing something unless it is in the evenings then we are relaxing! LOL!

Today Mountain Man is in his leather shop working on a buffalo hide coat. Gorgeous color! He is lining it with blue ticking material. I think it is going to be fabulous!
He hand sews his garments. This is for a client!

I am in the 'She Shed' sewing up a child's horsey quilt. Gifting it to a horse crazy little girl! ;)
Brought the "boys" home yesterday. They are "filling out" too much! Dry lot them for now....

Sunday Passage

16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

Farrier Shop Update

Mountain Man is adding the rafter boards and "squirrel frustrators"(short boards in between the long boards).

In between setting the boards and such, he has set a string line using the other building roof line to cut the ends of the rafter boards. He will use the excess boards for "frustrators".
More updates soon...

Garden Goodies

We have 'fished' out a few cherry tomatoes here and there. Today I picked another one and I picked our first cukes and a yellow squash.
Our beans are taking a beating from the rabbits (wild).
They have eaten about half the crop plants. I did manage to salvage a 'mess' to eat for us.

Sunday Passage

Isaiah 46:8-11 Amplified Bible (AMP)

“Remember this, and take courage;
Take it to heart, you rebellious and disloyal people.

“Remember [carefully] the former things [which I did] from ages past;
For I am God, and there is no one else;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
10
Declaring the end and the result from the beginning,
And from ancient times the things which have not [yet] been done,
Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,
And I will do all that pleases Me and fulfills My purpose,’
11
Calling a bird of prey from the east,
From a far country, the man (Cyrus) of My purpose.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, be assured I will do it.

Building Updates

Mountain Man got his insulation up on the ceiling and the outside wall of the leather shop. What a difference that made!
I understand corrigated metal will be the ceiling
His little air conditioner can keep up now!

He also made some changes in the blacksmith shop and out back in his soon to be farrier working area....it is getting closer to being what he envisions!
He added that table as a permanent unit...concreted the poles in the ground

I heard a window and door area will be in the big wall

just about ready for concrete (backside of blacksmith shop)

Projects

Time has slowed down just a bit so I headed to the 'She Shed' yesterday. Spent the better part of the day sorting, cleaning, rearranging the room. Exchanged tables out for a much more work worthy one. I finished a current quilt that just needed the tag attached and went onto the next thing.
Periodically, I get my ongoing projects out to see if maybe this is 'The Day' to get 'er dun'.

Tombstone vests were chosen, and off I went to get one together. I have not sewn vests before. I went to the directions and in my own words "these are foreign" instructions. Another words, I did not understand! Off I went to YOUTUBE! Thank God for youtube. I found a lady who explained the process fabulously in one video. I was able to adapt while working on my pattern.

Step by step, I went to work making this vest. Now this material I had was already cut out. I was given this cut out stack years ago to finish. Now that I have the "know how", I proud to say "I can".
Here is the first reversible that I did yesterday. Needs inside sides sewn shut and buttons/holes.

Onto the next vest........
